Adobe this week brought more artificial intelligence power to the masses with the general release of the Adobe Express app and AI Assistant.
AI assistant. Good news for those who have too much paper and not enough time. With this tool, you can: teacher Just click a button.
An AI assistant is a chatbot-like helper that analyzes documents such as PDF, Word, and PowerPoint and provides suggested questions to the user. It has a custom attribution engine that provides citations for every answer. This alleviates concerns about AI hallucinations. If you don’t want to ask questions, you can condense the key points and format them for emails, presentations, blogs, and reports.
Let’s dig deeper: How to bring AI to your marketing team
After being announced and launched as a beta in February, it was released to all Adobe users this week, with subscription plans starting at $4.99 per month. But don’t get too satisfied with its price. The current price is an “early access” price available until June 5th only.
The company also released a free mobile version of AI Assistant in beta. This version can respond to voice commands. Adobe says the service will also be available soon through extensions in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
why do we care? The convenience is undeniable. If I could apply it to my email inbox, it would be invaluable. That being said, price will be an important factor. The $5/month price deterred me from using it, but given the efficiencies it offers at the enterprise level, it could be a valuable add-on. Another problem: There’s an old saying that the devil is in the details. Many useful demons can be missed in AI summaries.
Adobe Express. The mobile app is a scaled down version of the desktop Adobe Express, which is home to the company’s Firefly genAI tool. The beta version was released 5 weeks ago.
Express allows users to do photo editing, video editing, graphic design, and AI work all in one place instead of using separate apps. There is a text-to-image generator that allows you to further adjust the images if you wish. There’s also a generative fill feature that lets you replace people and objects in your photos. Video editing features include a 4K video timeline and layer timing that allows users to create real-time captions using generated AI.
As we all know, AI doesn’t come cheap, and a fully public release of Adobe Express could mean some features will be locked behind a paywall. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the desktop version of the Adobe Express Premium tier will cost $10 per month for individuals.
