Amazon's New Generative Ai Tool Lets Advertisers Enhance Product Images

Amazon is rolling out a new AI image generation tool that allows advertisers to generate backgrounds based on product descriptions or themes. Amazon is currently beta testing the tool with some advertisers and plans to expand availability “over time.” the company says.

To use this tool, advertisers upload a photo, enter an image description that describes the desired background, select a theme and click Generate. Advertisers can also enter different text prompts to adjust the image. You will then be able to test multiple versions to optimize performance.

The e-commerce giant uses an image of a toaster as an example and features a kitchen table with fall decor, decorated with fall leaves and bright orange pumpkins. Beta tools are obviously not perfect. You may notice a not-so-ordinary fork in the bottom right corner of the image. However, the background looks convincing enough.

Many brands are turning to generative AI to simplify the ad creation process, which can be costly and time-consuming. Even large companies like Nestlé and Unilever have reportedly approved the use of software such as ChatGPT and DALL-E. Reuters.

“Producing engaging and differentiated creative can increase costs and often requires bringing additional expertise into the advertising process,” said Amazon Ads Senior Vice President of Products and Technology. President Colleen Aubrey said in a statement. “At Amazon Ads, we’re always thinking of ways to ease the burden on advertisers, give them tools that deliver greater impact with less effort, and ultimately provide a better advertising experience for our customers.”

Amazon hopes this new feature will help brands improve their advertising performance. Advertisers can place their products in a lifestyle context that tells a creative story, rather than standard product images with boring white backgrounds. As a result, Amazon’s new tool could increase his click-through rate by 40%, the company says.

Amazon has ramped up its efforts in generative AI in recent months. For example, the company introduced a tool to help sellers write product descriptions. We also leverage this technology to summarize customer reviews.
