Aws' New Ai Security Brings 'greater Confidence' To Genai Customer

Here’s why AWS’ new Guardrails for Amazon Bedrock cloud security product enables enterprises to deploy more generative AI solutions.

While some enterprises are hesitant to adopt generative AI due to security concerns, AWS’ newly launched Guardrails for Amazon Bedrock will give customers the confidence they need to dig deeper into GenAI. .

“Everyone is racing to launch new GenAI platforms,” said Scott White, chief operating officer and revenue officer at AWS partner DoiT International. “But what companies really need to deploy his GenAI is guardrails and governance.”

“Right now, there’s very little work on, ‘How do we deploy this across the enterprise with confidence that our teams will do what we intended?’ Get governance in place,” White said, adding that his company’s AWS business has surged a whopping 400% this year. “So his GenAI guardrails are [for Amazon Bedrock] The announcement was made in a big way. This will give customers a lot of confidence when they decide to adopt GenAI. ”

At AWS re:Invent 2023 in Las Vegas this week, AWS announced Guardrails for Amazon Bedrock in an effort to implement protections tailored to enterprise application requirements.

AWS CEO: Guardrails provide a “consistent level of protection”

New AI cloud security products evaluate user input and fundamental model (FM) responses based on use case-specific policies, providing an additional layer of protection regardless of the underlying FM. Customers can create multiple guardrails, each consisting of a different combination of controls, and use these guardrails in different applications and use cases.

Amazon Bedrock is AWS’s generative AI platform that enables customers to easily build and scale GenAI applications using a variety of underlying models from AWS and third parties such as Anthropic and Cohere.

AWS CEO Adam Selipsky said the Seattle-based company, the $92 billion global cloud market share leader, is committed to providing responsible AI solutions. .

“We are actively participating in discussing responsible AI issues and have many groups coming together. We joined earlier this year [U.S.] president [Joe] Biden and other leaders. “We have undertaken a series of voluntary initiatives to promote the safe, secure, and transparent development of AI technologies,” Selipsky said in his AWS re:Invent 2023 keynote. . “We’ve been working hard here, and today we’re announcing guardrails” for Amazon Bedrock. ”

“We now have a consistent level of protection across all GenAI development activities,” said the AWS CEO. “So we’re approaching the whole concept of generative AI in a fundamentally different way because we understand what it takes to reinvent the way we build with this technology. Because there is.”

You can also integrate Guardrails for Amazon Bedrock with Agents for Bedrock to build generative AI applications that align with your customers’ responsible AI policies. This offer also integrates with Amazon CloudWatch, allowing users to monitor and analyze user input and her FM responses that violate policies defined in guardrails.

AWS is “one step ahead” of other companies

DoiT International, based in Santa Clara, California, is an all-star cloud service provider and AWS Premier Tier Service Partner with over 300 certifications.

This month, Global AWS Partners entered into a significant strategic partnership agreement with AWS to generate $5 billion in business by accelerating the use of the AWS Cloud from native cloud customers to enterprise customers.

Amazon Bedrock’s guardrails will help drive momentum for AWS by giving enterprises greater confidence and encouragement to adopt generative AI, said Tracie Stamm, head of product marketing and content at DoiT. . Stamm said AWS is “a step ahead” of some of his other GenAI market players due to the cloud giant’s massive scale and his Guardrails’ focus on the enterprise.

“AWS’s scale means we’re focused on getting everyone along this curve,” Stamm says. “Small businesses with less security sensitivities can also be early adopters. However, larger companies such as Fed, SLED, and Financial Services will find their security requirements to be much more stringent. If you don’t provide management, governance and oversight, you won’t get that business.”

Amazon Bedrock Guardrails is currently available in limited preview. During preview, guardrails are applicable to all LLMs available on Amazon Bedrock, including Amazon Titan Text, Anthropic Claude, Meta Llama 2, AI21 Jurassic, and Cohere Command.
